Cabernet Franc

$90.00 ea.

After a perfect 2018 growing season, we did not know what to expect from Mother Nature in 2019, but she did not disappoint! The beginning of the 2019 growing season had plenty of rainfall, followed by a long, warm summer that offered few extreme heat events and ample foggy mornings. The long, relatively mild finish to the season helped preserve freshness and finesse in the fruit. The Cabernet Franc harvest started at the Oakville Estate on September 20th with our last pick coming in at the beginning of October. This gradual growing season allowed for abundant hang time providing us with great color, structure, and plush tannins.

Winemaker Notes

After years of waiting, the inaugural release of Cabernet Franc is here! The unique qualities of the Cabernet Franc grown on our Oakville Estate have long made our entire winemaking team wishful to create a wine that lets this varietal shine, and the 2019 vintage gave us the perfect fruit to do so. A friendly bouquet of tart red cherry, fresh herbs, and graphite inspires an intoxicating combination of aromas. The palate is playful, bouncing back and forth between ripe plum, bay leaf, and dusty cocoa tannins, making this a complex and complete wine. Whether enjoyed at the end of long ski day by a snowy fire pit or paired with grilled tri-tip during a summer BBQs with friends, there is not a bad time to enjoy this wine.
