The Mt. Veeder appellation has a depth and complexity of soil unique to the Napa Valley. This distinctive diversity of soil coupled with rugged mountain terrain and the diurnal temperature swings produce wines of character. Situated above the fog line at 1600 feet elevation, we’re pleased to showcase the extraordinary Mt. Veeder appellation with the inaugural release of the 2021 Crossroads Mountain Blend and the release of the 2023 Crossroads Ribolla Gialla.

We invite you to Cadet in Napa on Wednesday, July 24^th starting at 5pm to meet Winemaker Natalie Bath. Taste through the latest releases of our Crossroads by Rudd wines, including the Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and yet to be released Mountain Blend, with a special surprise wine Natalie will bring from the library.

The second vintage of our Crossroads Cabernet Franc was a true pleasure to craft. The more aromatic relative of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc is often used as a blending grape; however, its history harkens back to the 17th century, and has seen a resurgence of bottlings dedicated to the varietal in recent years.

An article recently written by Karen MacNeil called “Nothing Left to Say? The End of Wine Writing,” was poignant, emotive, well-written, and direct— exactly the type of article we’ve come to expect from Karen. Although the points were many, one specific aspect of the article we found intriguing is an incredibly simple, yet shockingly complex question, “Why is wine important?”
